At long last the great landscaping project of 2004 has commenced, sort of. It was supposed to start on June 8th, but the late spring and early summer of this year have been nothing but rain. That, combined with a busier than usual schedule and some truck problems has caused out landscaping company to fall behind quite a bit. They have been apologetic and do genuinely seem to be stressed out about it.

Last week dirt and rocks showed up and the week before that the areas where the new beds are going to be place were marked out with RoundUp, killing off all the grass. The weeds in the forest however, seemed to laugh off the RoundUp.

I have pictures posted over at the house website (follow the landscaping link on the nav bar) and will keep those updated as the project progresses. I’ve included the sketch of the landscaping plan below.
