The short version rather than extending the lease on our 06 Acura MDX, we ended up trading it in for a 2010 Acura TL SH-AWD w/Tech Package. Lindsey Acura really wanted the 06 MDX for resale in the used market and made us a great deal on the TL. Below dealer invoice, which appears common these days.
That happened last Saturday and I’ve been busy with the car since then.
The TL is shaping up nicely. The StealthCord arrived mid-week and the V1 is now wired into the rear view mirror. No more PIA of trying to wire into the fuse box and run the line up the, thanks to side air bags, ever increasingly tight A-Pillar
The ProClip tilt swivel kit for the iPhone arrived next and is looking good installed, but needs a black iPhone/USB cable. The white stands out too much.
Greyson’s new booster seat is installed as well, a Cleck Olli. He gets to use a “big person’s seat belt” now. And best of all (well this is a mixed bad) can let himself out. Soon he should learn to lock himself in as well.
I’ve hit the 600 mile mark on the TL and so now I’m free to stop "going easy" on it. :) Yesterday was quite fun. That car has some power that’s for sure. And as the reviewers say "it carves corners". Hell ya it does. Greyson had a blast on the part of Section Line Road that is really hilly, like a roller coaster. Hit those hills at 70 and it does feel like a roller coaster. He made us do the circuit twice.
Next week sees the upgrading of things in the 04 MDX for Traci. Installation of a Parrot 3200LS-Color Bluetooth kit, addition of a wired in Aux input replacing the CD-Changer (never used anymore, which allows Greyson to watch DVD’s while we listen to iPhone content) and at long last (since X-mas) wiring in of the XM/Sirrus antenna for the iPhone SkyDock. Ya, my X-mas present is now Traci’s… but I got a new car, so I guess I came out ahead, and the MDX is still our long range travel vehicle so I’ll get to use it on trips.
