It’s the little things

Greyson has his own alarm clock and he’s been really good about getting up when it goes off and then coming down stairs. Recently he seems to have forgotten which button is off and which is for “sleep”. I think this is due to the time change and him not yet being 100% adjusted. He’s quite groggy in the morning. The past few days he’s been hitting sleep instead of off and of course 10-15 minutes later, it goes off again.

Today was one of those days. I was going to the kitchen to get him breakfast and he was stomping upstairs to turn off his alarm again. He was quite put out over his alarm clock’s refusal to do the right thing, and not taking any responsibility for pushing the wrong button of course. 🙂

I’m listening to him on the monitor while he’s upstairs. He’s pushing various buttons and getting all kinds of results. It’s also a learning clock and has little games to help kids learn time. Everything button you push has verbal feedback. The alarm is still going off and I hear him yell “Damn thing!” He finally finds the master off button. The one you press to turn the alarm on or off overall, so it won’t go off the next morning. He pushes that and I hear “the alarm is off” from the clock. Then Grey says “that’s more like it!” slams the clock down and comes back down stairs.

I was laughing my ass off in the kitchen listening to all this. He’s quite amusing.
