Home Theater construction is still coming along nicely. Some slow days with lots of fiddly tedious things getting done, but we’re quite close to painting now. The front stage is framed up and ready to be wrapped in fabric. A few more coats of mud and lots of sanding and we’re ready to start painting, somewhere in there will be swapping out the door with the new solid core door and putting on the baseboard and crown, which will hold the rope lighting.
After a brief test it looks like the rope lighting may be too bright and need to be put on a dimmer. This leads me to think about getting an IR controlled light dimmer unit that I can control from the remote I decided to go with, the Phillips iPronto. It’s expensive, but way cheaper than Creston, and the home theater just cried out for it.
The carpet is on order after a bit of confusion. I guess home theater rooms are a bit of a mystery to Buddy’s Carpet. In the end it’s costing more than we wanted since the carpet we chose only comes in 12′ widths and our room is 13’8″. We’ll have a nice left over amount of carpet at least….I guess that’s a good thing…
As always, updated photos are here.
