Air Travel II

Some people are simply amazing. They live in their own little world quite apart from the one the rest of us inhabit. On our flight out to Houston three mid 30 something children were sitting behind us. Apparently they never realized that they were on an airplane filled with other people. Nor did they realize Read More …

Air Travel

What fun air travel has become. Once upon a time I really enjoyed flying. I looked forward to it. It was fun. Now I dread it. I’ll do almost anything to avoid it. This has nothing to do with danger or risk or even the airlines treating people badly, that’s been going on for years Read More …

Lincoln LS

Hertz is a great rental company. The gold club is free yet not everyone uses it, and I’m not sure why. Just find your name on the plaque and go to the number’d spot and there is your car, trunk open and keys in the ignition. No fussing about with signing papers and waiting in Read More …

Houston

Amazing. Get this: after the great flood a few years back the city of Houston decided that they needed to upgrade their entire storm sewer system, in case the once in 100 year floods started becoming more regular or just to be prepared for the next flood in 100 years. Another Fun Night

So, I wake up at 4:45am and hear water sounds, splashing or something like it. I panic and run around looking. Everything seems okay, must be freezing rain. We strive to exert control over every aspect of our lives and derive great satisfaction from the belief that we are in control even when that belief is founded on illusion. I think in some way the Read More …

A Remembering….

When I was seven years old my father was shot and killed by my best friend at the time, Richard Green. We were at my fatherÂ’s new house on the corner of Spilter and Morningside, in Poland, Ohio. The previous night some vandals had attacked his house and he had taken out his gun in Read More …

Las Vegas was, as always,

Las Vegas was, as always, a blast. We stayed at the Paris and had a room with a hallway. Great place, nice rooms, good eats. The flight out was however, horrible. Do you remember Pigpen from Peanuts?

Save Farscape and musings

On Saturday morning a friend of mine sent me the information that the Sci-Fi series Farscape had been cancelled. This came as a complete shock since the show was just recently picked up by Sci-Fi for a 4th and 5th season.
