A long work weekend or HT2004 cont.

Saturday began at 9:30 and John left around 6:30. I made a trip to Lowes and kept at it until around 9:00

Sunday John came over at 8:30 and we worked until 6:30.

I’m so tired it’s stupid. But we made a lot of progress. We started by moving the wiring for 4 of the 6 sconces. Traci came down over the past week and drew in where they really needed to go, and wired in the last sconce on the stage side of the door.. That didn’t take to long though. I ran my wires for the subwoofers and we started the front stage. I got another new toy: DeWalt Heavy-Duty ½” Right Angle Drill Kit – DW120K. Needed that to run holes for my sub wires as well as some extra wire runs just in case. All electrical is hooked up and working great, I finally learned how this electrical stuff works now and am feeling much better about working with it. Saturday evening I poured concrete floor leveler into the front stage to firm it up since the floor is so far from level it’s silly. There is a huge bulge in the center. Needless to say it took awhile to build the front stage with the wonky floor.

On Sunday we finished putting the round edge on the front stage and capped the rear riser. ¾” plywood a layer of 30# roofing felt, a ½” layer of plywood and a layer of 30# roofing felt and then a final layer of ¾” plywood. That took a long time but wow is it solid. We burned through screws like crazy as well. Then we cleaned up the room, vacuumed out all the dust and moved all the tools out for a nice final vision. Johns off for the next week to sunny Cancun for vacation and while he’s gone I have list of things to do, starting tonight with Bob’s help. SAND THE FRONT STAGE!!

I have 32 50lb bags of sand in the garage waiting to be hauled downstairs. Hopefully we won’t use all of them.

Then I have to cap the front stage just like the rear riser. I need to install a box for the switches for the sconces and rope lighting and hook that all up. Oh, and I need to rest.

Quite a bit. Rest.

New pictures are up here.

And I apologize for the dusty lens.
